- We decided to setup a wiki page: Vera to initiate a branch for He3 polarimetry on BNL wiki.
- Prajwal reported that the fiscal matters were setup on MIT reg. accounts for manpower and fabrication.
- Updates to the storage cell:
- Larger magnetic field to cover the entire storage cell's length along the beam.
- To enlarge the windows to cover the large portion of the storage cell.
- The storage cell will need to be housed in a vacuum vessel. A existing vacuum vessel at BNL could be used. Prajwal will evaluate this by Sep.
- Wakefield issues:
- There is a possibility that at EIC, the storage cell cannot be made with aluminum, because the Wakefield effect is large
- Frank was going to initiate a Wakefield calculation with Medani to check if we need to use (i) ceramics, and (ii) if we need Wakefield suppressors.
- Medani will present some preliminary calculations on 6/5.
- Measurement of beam temperature:
- We currently plan to measure the beam temperature by pulsing the ABS beam using the VAT valve
- Frank suggested using a chopper.
- A chopper may not be incorporated in the current measurement plan at Bates, but we can consider a spinning circular chopper for a general application to all the ABSs. If this chopper could work for H-Jet, it is likely possible to be also applied to He3-ABS.
