String theory is becoming computational! Recent progress on explicitly constructing interesting solutions to string theory has been directly enabled by large-scale computation. In this talk I will go over some of the tools and challenges of computational string theory, focusing on the role played by Calabi-Yau manifolds. In particular, I will talk about the purpose-built software CYTools and how it can be used on subMIT.
