This will be the fourth meeting of the DarkLight @ ARIEL Collaboration.  It will be held May 31 - June 2, 2023 at TRIUMF in Vancouver, Canada.

The purpose of this meeting is to bring as many people as possible together to review:

  • developments in dark matter searches,

  • production of the DarkLight detector components,

  • status and plans for the ARIEL accelerator,

  • schedule for installing and commissioning the experiment, and

  • plans for the first period of operation in the fall of 2023.

The search for a dark photon holds considerable interest in the physics community. Such a force carrier would begin to illuminate the dark sector. Many experiments have searched for such a particle, but so far it has proven elusive. In recent years the concept of a low mass dark photon has gained popularity in the physics community. Of particular recent interest is the ^8Be and ^4He anomaly, which could be explained by a 17 MeV mass dark photon. The proposed Darklight experiment would search for this potential low mass force carrier at ARIEL in the 10-20 MeV e^+e^- invariant mass range.

Accommodation

People should book their own accommodations for this collaboration meeting. There are two options -- West Coast Suites ( $210-225 ) and TRIUMF House ( $100-115 ).

There is unlikely to be a group rate at WCS given the small number of rooms required. People can make their own bookings using the WCS website.

To book at TRIUMF House people will need to phone the toll free number (877-378-3797) or send an e-mail to "housing @triumf.ca" and mention that they are working on the DarkLight experiment. The TRIUMF website opens up 1 month in advance to outsiders -- so people should book soon.
