Venue
The conference will take place in Sousse, Tunisia, from August 1–August 6, 2027. We expect participants to get to Tunisia on July 31st. Information on the venue and recommended hotels will be added to this page soon.
Getting to Sousse
The closest international airports are:
- Monastir Habib Bourguiba International Airport (MIR), the closest airport to Sousse. [About 40 minutes drive]
- Enfidha–Hammamet International Airport (NBE) [about 35 minutes drive]
- Tunis–Carthage International Airport (TUN), which has the widest range of international connections [about 1 hour 40 minutes drive].
Conference buses
The organizers will run shuttle buses between these airports and Sousse at the start and end of the conference. Schedules will be posted here closer to the conference, and you’ll be asked to give your arrival and departure details when you register.
On August 2, 2027, the day of the total solar eclipse, we will also run buses from Sousse to a viewing site in the path of totality, either Mahdia or Sfax. The final location and timing will be confirmed later.
Visas
Some nationalities need a visa to enter Tunisia. Please check whether this applies to you as early as possible. Processing can take several weeks and may require approval from the authorities in Tunisia. Visa applications are handled by the Tunisian embassy or consulate that covers your place of residence:
- United States: Embassy of Tunisia in Washington, DC – Visa Services
- United Kingdom: Embassy of Tunisia in London – Consular Section, Visa Services
- France: Embassy of Tunisia in Paris
- Germany: Tunisia has four missions in Germany: the embassy in Berlin and consulates in Düsseldorf, Munich, and Hamburg. Each covers specific federal states. See the Tunisian Consulate General in Düsseldorf for which office covers your state.
